To honor and recognize the contributions educators make to the history of WNC, the Western North Carolina Historical Association is offering FREE membership to all educators across WNC. This includes private and public school teachers, assistants and administrators as well as college teachers and administrators! Educators must join by September 30, 2018 to take advantage of this offer!
To join WNCHA, simply mail or email your name, address, phone number, preferred email address along with proof of your school system employment. Various forms of ID’s, teaching credentials or even a check stub can can be used to prove your employment. You can mail the above information to:

Members of WNCHA receive many benefits including free admission to the Smith-McDowell House Museum, access to educational programs, documentary film screenings as well as invitations to literary and historical oriented award and event programs. The vast majority of our programs and events are free for members!
Educators also have access to our Traveling Truck Program as well as other educationally oriented resources. Living History Day at Smith-McDowell House held every year in April is an extraordinary learning opportunity for 4th and 5th grade students!
