283 Victoria Rd Asheville
October 10 – November 11, 2018. (Wed – Sat 10am – 4pm)
Join us for a very special, one-room installation of Victorian Mourning practices. In the 1870s room, we have informative panels, artifacts, clothing and a notebook of Victorian post-mortem photography. Included in the artifacts are a variety of remembrance jewelry pieces and mourning dress items from our collection. Thanks ever so much to Tammy Walsh for loaning a few objects from her personal collection.
There is also a hands-on component to the exhibit. Not creepy at all! We will offer a “start it here, take it home” friendship bracelet project.
It is only available until November 11, so don’t miss it!! The $9 admission fee is our regular admission, so as usual, members are free!! Group tours should call 828 253 9231 for reservation.
