It’s Back-to-school time!! That means new friends and old friends back together again. Let’s make some friendship bracelets to celebrate!!
Saturday August 18 10:30am – 12:30pm
We’ll be using a technique that makes it very easy. Try one made from embroidery floss and then maybe one from yarn, or hemp string. Make one for yourself and one to give to a friend.
Friendship bracelets are more than you might think. Crafts such as this help youngsters build self-esteem and confidence, attention and concentration, perceptual skills, social skills and creativity. For example, for children who struggle with “free range” creativity, following a pattern allows a low threat opportunity to create something by only making a few creative decisions such as color and shape. Children, who otherwise, may struggle to sit still, follow instructions and stay on task, can also surprise us when they are motivated to achieve something. This is why we offer the Crafty Historian.

Fee for this event is only $5 to cover supplies. Reservations are necessary so that we can easily share attention and instruction. Use this link HERE to complete online registration. Children should have enough fine motor skills to handle string and directions. If you need to bring a younger child, we will have coloring sheets and crayons.
Fill out this form and we will send a confirmation by email.
