Newspapers.com is a paid service; however, depending on where you live you may be able to get free online access through your local library.

At this time (May 2021), to access the Asheville Citizen you must have the "Publishers Extra" subscription, which costs $75/6 months. A 7-day free trial is available. You can gain access to the "Publishers Extra" newspapers in person at the library. Additionally, Asheville's other historic newspaper, Asheville Times, is only available via microfilm at this time.
